We at Lulu and Little Lulu are all refreshed and relaxed and very excited for the new seson to start rolling on in. There are (literally) truckloads of new products and amazing clothing on the way.

Today we had a delivery of some much anticipated porcelain votives, perfect for scattering around the house or just keeping one next to the bed.

Available in small or large, $20/26. Nice.

Next up we have the beautiful melamine range from homegrown favourites Mae. Already a massive hit, we are now fully stocked with the whole range.

Each piece is sold individually so you can mix and match. They have an amazing, smooth matte exterior and a glossy interior finish, and are BPA-free as well as dishwasher safe (up to 55 degrees). Priced between $11.95 - $16.95, we are thinking it's well time to ditch the maxwell and williams and have a little more meal time joy.

As you may know, here at the Lulu's we take card giving very seriously. A written thought is a gift in itself!
We have set ourselves a pretty high standard over the years as purveyors of beautiful card design, and so we are more than impressed with these latest offerings from Rifle Design.
Rifle is based in Winter Park, Florida, and created by husband and wife team Anna and Nathan. Anna's handpainted illustrations and letterings create a timeless style that incorporates equal parts whimsy and nostalgia. The Rifle range is handprinted in the US using environmentally friendly papers and then assembled by hand. Currently we are stocking the cards and invites, but more gift-inspired products are on the way. We can't wait!

(full valentines range is on the way in Feb. and yes they are all as awesome as this one.)

Little lulu loves hand puppets! These little gems by Kalimba are lovely and soft, made of a stretchy cotton so they can fit all hands! They're lightweight and portable (and don't have detachable parts!) which makes them a great baby toy to tuck down the side of a pram or into a nappy bag as an on-the-go toy. Keep one (or three?) at the ready for some serious fun times.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away! Sweet enough for a kids room, but also perfect for any room of the house. They're so nice and soft - we have all been busted wandering around the shop hugging one!

snakes can be cute too! (and great to use as door snakes to stop drafts!)

These little ladies are soft & delightful, and we pretty much just want Suzie's hair style. Check it! Adorable!

It's pretty hard to describe the satisfying way these arms and legs (and tails!) of these mice jiggle around when you pick them up, but it makes all of us at Little Lulu smile every time someone does. You'll just have to come in and see for yourself!

We know it's super cold in Melbourne right now, and hardly weather for eating icecream, but it's definitely weather for playing with icecream (and not in the way where it ends up all over the floor).

Little Lulu's just got a delivery of Le Toy Van wooden toys, and these ones are all about eating! There are icecreams, cupcakes, and an icecream sundae wooden stacking toy too.

Yay! The much coveted soap range from France has arrived and the store is looking all the prettier for it. We will be stocking the Fleur d' Oranger, Olive Lavande, Pamplemousse (grapefruit - my personal fave), and Rose fragrances, in the liquid handsoap, body milk and little duck shaped handsoaps. More fragrances likely to come in the future, as we know of no nicer handwash in both form and function. Made by traditional methods and standards, in a cauldron, the liquid soaps contain no colouring agents, animal fats or surface-acting agents. The glass pump bottle brings a touch of fancy to your kitchen or bathroom, and can be refilled with eco-friendly plastic bottles which we'll have in store soon. The body milks are formulated with olive and sweet almond oils, shea butter and vitamin E. Liquid soaps are $35, Body Milk, $34, and Duck Soap, $12.00.

One of the things we love most about this time of year is all the new wares that start trickling in - there are few we are more excited about than the autumn/winter range from NancyBird, which will start arriving tomorrow. The range showcases the signiature Italian washed cow leather, hand woven cottons from Sri Lanka, hand screen printed and digitally printed fabrics - featuring details of watercolours and woodcuts from Albrecht Durer and Ellis Rowan.

Encompassing a mix of warm autumn colours, bright accents and layering of patterns and textures, inspired by living amongst the trees and lovely old buildings of Melbourne.

much to the excitement of all those mums bubs aunts uncles nans and nannys around carlisle st, we will very soon be opening Little Lulu right next door - the babies and childrens range will finally have their very own shop! lots of fun and (of course) cute new clothes, toys, and gifts to look at and play with, as well as more extensive range of products from our current labels - we've just never had enough space to fit in all the lovely things we want on the shelves!

Our holiday season opening hours:

Lulu will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, the 27th of December, and

New Years Day. We will be open 11am-5pm on the days in between, and until the

12th of January.

we've just had a new delivery of wonderful clothes from melbourne made label Heide and Seek. Hayley Lau, the label's founder, designs and sews each garment from reclaimed materials. Each garment is on of a kind, and a wearable, individual piece that will outlive fashion trends. Hayley has been designing and creating clothes since 2004, and aims to counter the disposable nature of today's fashion industry, which relies on exploiting workers to bear the low cost of the prices offered to customers. Through her label, Hayley is endeavouring to challenge the norms of the fashion industry in an effort to live more ethically and encourage opthers to do the same. Lulu is loving having Heide and Seek on the racks, and so are all the happy customers taking home her handmade one off pieces. Prices are approx $80 - $150. A small price to pay for making the world a better place!
